Outlook 2007 EMail Setup


Step 1

  • Click "Tools", then "Account Settings".


Step 2

  • Click on your email name/address, then click "change" (highlighted blue box in picture).


Step 3

  • Type your email address in both the "E-mail Address" and "User Name" boxes.

  • Type your email account password in the "Password" box.

  • Click the "More Settings" box (highlighted blue box in picture).


Step 4

  • The "Mail Account" name can be whatever you wish to name it.


Step 5

  • Click the "Outgoing Server" tab.

  • Check "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" and ensure "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is selected.


Step 6

  • Click the "Connection" tab.

  • Ensure "Connect using my local area network (LAN)" is selected.


Step 7

  • Click the "Advanced" tab.

  • For "Incoming Server (POP3)" or "Incoming Server (IMAP)", make sure "110" ("143" for IMAP) is typed into box to its right.

  • For "Outgoing Server (SMTP), make sure "25" is typed into box to its right.

  • For "Use the following type of encrypted connection," select "TLS".

  • Click "OK".


Step 8

  • Upon sending your first email, you may receive a "Internet Security Warning" message, click "Yes".


Step 9

  • After the "Internet Security Warning" prompt, you may receive a "Enter Network Password" prompt.

  • Ensure your email address in full is typed in the "User Name" box, and that your email account password is typed in correctly in the "Password" box.

  • Check the box for "Save this password in your password list".

  • Click "OK".
