MAC Mail Setup

 

Step 1

  • Open your Mac Mail client. 
  • Click on "Mail" tab on menu (highlighted red box in picture). 
  • Click on "Preferences".
 

Step 2

  • In the "Accounts" page, select your MGW email account (box highlighted in green in picture), and then select "Account Information" (highlighted in red in picture). 
  • Verify "Enable this account" is checked. 
  • Type your full MGW email address into the "Email Address" box. 
  • Ensure "mail.mgwnet.com" is typed into the "Incoming Mail Server" box. 
  • Verify your full MGW email address is typed into the "User Name" box. 
  • Verify your email account password is typed correctly in the "Password" box. Click the box next to "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)", and select "Edit SMTP Server List" at bottom of list.
 

Step 3

  • Ensure your MGW email account is highlighted under "In Use By Account" tab (box highlighted in red in picture).  
  • While in the "Account Information" tab, ensure your "Server Name" is "smtp.mgwnet.com", and "None" is selected for "TLS Certificate". 
  • Click the "Advanced" tab next to "Account Information".
 

Step 4

  • Ensure "Use default ports (25, 465, 587)" is selected, and "Use Secure Socket Layer (SSL)" is unchecked (if SSL rechecks itself, that is fine). 
  • Ensure "Password" is selected for "Authentication". 
  • Ensure your full MGW email address is typed into the "User Name" box, and your password is typed correctly into the "Password" box.  
  • Click "OK".
 

Step 5

  • Now you will be back in the main Accounts screen. 
  • Go ahead and click on the "Advanced" tab (box highlighted in blue in picture).
 

Step 6

  • In the "Accounts" window, ensure port "143" is typed into port box, "Use SSL" is unchecked, and "Password" is selected for "Authentication".
  • Click the red "x" button in the top left corner of the Accounts window to save the new settings.
 

Step 7

  • Once saved, a message titled "Verify Certificate" will appear, informing you that "The identity of 'mail.mgwnet.com' cannot be verified."
  • Click "Show Certificate".
 

Step 8

  • In the drop down menu that appears, click the triangle next to "Trust". 
  • For "When using this certificate:" box, select "Always Trust".
 

Step 9

  • Click "Connect".
 

Step 10

  • After you select "Connect" in the previous step, you will be prompted to enter your MAC computer password. 
  • Enter your password in the "Password" box, and click "Update Settings".
